Rolando Elementary School Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 foundation based in La Mesa, California. We are also a group of parents, educators, and community members who believe in advocating for every child.
Please reach us at Admin@RolandoElementaryPTA.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.
A strong PTA needs the support of parents, caregivers, family members, teachers, school staff, and community members. If you want to be involved, we welcome you to be a part of the PTA.
We do not require you to attend meetings or volunteer to be a member. Attending Association meetings and volunteering are optional but they are a great way for members to keep up with what's going on and to meet other families. We do need to meet a quorum for voting at meetings, so we always hope you will join us!
Joining the PTA means becoming part of a community dedicated to supporting and enhancing your child's education. As a member, you'll have a voice in important decisions, access to school news and events, and opportunities to connect with other parents and teachers. It's a simple way to make a meaningful impact on the school community.
The PTA’s mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
Each individual PTA unit decides its own membership fee. Since the PTA is a non-profit, any money received must be spent in a way that works towards the mission of the PTA – in this case to benefit children. From the fee that your local PTA unit charges, $2.25 goes to the National PTA to pay for the services and resources that they provide, such as training, programs, and up-to-date information on education, and the ability to advocate for children on all levels of government. In addition, an amount set by each state goes to fund the services, resources, training, and advocacy that the state PTA provides.
The PTA is the oldest and largest, volunteer non-profit association to advocate for children in the United States and provides families and anyone interested in education with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of all children. It is a network of thousands of school and community associations that support children and each other. Other parent groups often work only within their school with no support or connections with other organizations.
Rolando Elementary PTA is dedicated to fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment where every student thrives. We believe that when families are involved in their child's education, the child flourishes. Our mission is to support academic excellence, promote strong family-school partnerships, and ensure all students access enriching opportunities. We strive to empower our diverse community, advocate for equitable resources, and inspire a lifelong love of learning.
